Indian Coast Guard Eligibility Criteria for Group A Gazetted Officer Recruitment in General Duty Branch and Technical Branch, as per the official notifications Eligibility Criteria is mentioned below:
For General Duty Branch:
Education: Candidates are required to have minimum Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50 % marks in aggregate of a university recognized by the Central/ State Govt./ UGC. Should have qualified 12th standard with Physics and Maths.
Age Limits: Candidates age should be between 18 to 25 Years as on the date mentioned in the official Indian Coast Guard recruitment notification.
For Technical Duty Branch:
Education: Engineering degree with minimum 55 % marks in aggregate or Should have passed sections A and B of Institute of Engineers (India) examination in any of the Engineering discipline listed below with minimum 55 % marks.
- Mechanical Branch: Mechanical/ Naval architecture/ Marine/ Industrial and Production/ Metallurgy/ Mechatronics.
- Electrical Branch: Electrical/ Electronics/ Power Engineering/ Electronics and Communication/ Instrumentation and Controls/ Power Electronics/ Instrumentation Engineering.
Age Limits: Candidates age should be between 18 to 25 Years as on the date mentioned in the official Indian Coast Guard recruitment notification
All the Engineering Degree must be recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). No branches other than as entioned above are accepted.
- Medical Standards:
All candidates recommended by Final Selection Board will undergo Medical examination at nearest Military Hospital.
Height in Cm: 157 cm minimum (Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. orders).
Weight: Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.
Chest: Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cm.
- Eye Sight:
- General Duty Branch: 6/6 6/9 – Uncorrected without Glass; and 6/6 6/6 – Corrected with Glass.
- Technical Branch: 6/36 6/36 – Uncorrected without Glass; and 6/6 6/6 – Corrected with Glass.
